Welcome, my friend! You have found yourself knocking on the door of Concord Bible Church for one reason or another. Let me try to help prepare you in the event you plan on visiting us on a Sunday morning. You may have some of the following questions.
What kind of a church are you?
We are a Bible believing Evangelical Free church that focuses on exalting God through our Sunday morning service. We attempt to do this through the picture laid out by the early church in Acts 2:42. We attempt to lead you in exalting God through music, prayer, fellowship, giving and teaching. Concord Bible Church traditionally has been a loving church that is devoted to Christ and one another – our goal is that anyone who visits would experience that very thing. Come join us and be inspired.
Are there programs for my kids?
Yes, we have full nursery and children’s programming through 5th grade during the service.
Do I need to dress a certain way?
Yes, we would approve of you wearing clothes! We believe that your worship to the Lord is an ongoing act that is not regulated to Sunday morning in a building. Therefore, what is in your heart concerning your comfort in preparing for worship is where we want you to be. We have a variety of different styles of attire on any given Sunday morning. You might find the Pastor in a suit and tie or jeans and a button down shirt, come as your are – man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks upon the heart.
How can I get more information?
Make sure you receive one of our visitor packets from the greeters or ushers. Inside you will find details about CBC and a visitor card that you can fill out for further contact with the Pastor. You may also email our pastor for more information.
I would like prayer or spiritual help, how can I meet with a leader?
When you arrive, please let one of the greeters know what your need is and they will help you. If you arrive late, please wait and seek out the Pastor – he would love to speak with you.
Pastor Jeremy Cook
Greetings and grace and peace to you! My name is Jeremy and it is my honor and privilege to serve as Lead Pastor at Concord Bible Church. As of the writing of this bio I am entering my 20th year at CBC and I can thoroughly say we see the hand of God at work in, through, and around us.
I have served in ministry from volunteer to intern to part time Youth Pastor to full time Youth Pastor for 22 years in Santa Clarita California. I attended the Master’s University from 1984 to 1987 and then returned and graduated from the PSP program with a B.S. in Organizational Leadership in 1994. I then graduated from Trinity Seminary with an M.A. in Pastoral Studies, and am currently working on a Ph.D. in Chrisitan Counseling at Trinity.
My wife and I married in June of 1992 and we have three children and a new son-in law. We have always served the Lord without compromise and with great enthusiasm.
I love serving with authenticity and devotion the Lord and my flock. I live by the Word and the leading of the Spirit. I often use my spiritual gift of sarcasm (hehe) in my preaching and daily life, but never compromise on the orthodoxy of the Word. Being very visionary you will find that I am often pushing the envelop and leading, but never without the Lord’s leading.
My life is a sacrifice to the Lord on a daily basis, and while I often fail, I seek to honor my King in professional capacity as well as personal.
I love to laugh and I believe that joy and hope from the Lord can truly change a persons life. I try to live that out daily. I value the statement “No Reserves – No Retreat – No Regrets” from William Borden. When not consumed with family, faith, and friends, you can find me working on Jazz guitar – staying up to date on my 4 different pro teams (Soccer – Football – Baseball -Basketball) and am always up for an engaging conversation about any of that.
Mostly – I love to preach and teach. I take shepherding seriously but fail everyday at being a provisional shepherd. It is my greatest desire to have a legacy at CBC that reflects the Lord and not myself. When you visit make sure you say hi – I would love to meet you!
